orange you glad…

How in the name of all things holy was this even a trend? For a while there, everyone was running around looking like fucking hi-lighters or like they had those mini pylons from grade 6 soccer practise strapped to their heads. Why orange? I love it when something so specific like this becomes fashionable. I get tuques, I guess…but orange, and particularly fluorescent orange? Maybe to stand out in a crowd? -but not so clever, Rabbit, when half the crowd is wearing them. Luckily this seems to have died the fuck down, but you still see the occasional plaid-clad dunce running for the skytrain wearing one – oblivious to the fact that it does nothing for his skin tone. Seriously, next to that particular hue, you look ill. Take some vitamins, lay off the binge drinking.

I was lucky enough to catch up with them and grab some goodies in the process. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you when the next one rolls around. The other day I met up with LARYINRED on Commercial Drive for an afternoon of shopping, indian food, and some fotos. After lunch we stopped into the boutique BAREFOOT CONTESSA (located on 1928 Commercial Drive between 3rd and 4th ave). After we spent what felt like an hour in their boutique we burrowed some clothes and headed up to a friends rooftop for a few fotos before the sun went down.

Sarah is genius. She’s a vintage collector and finds the most incredible pieces. With great visual manipulation she can put some of the loudest clothes mixed with different patterns and top it off with gorgeous accessories and a boldness explosion becomes a sleek outfit.

The other day my friend Brit and I went on a little photo adventure around U.B.C. It turns out that the dress she is wearing was purchased at FLOK(Located on the Broadway and MacDonnald). I happen to be close friends with the owner of FLOK and will be producing their Fall/Winter Look Book.
